Woman 2 Woman: Community Volunteer
Interested in a unique one-to-one volunteer opportunity? The Woman 2 Woman program connects women in our community for ongoing visits with women incarcerated at local prisons, Bedford Hills (maximum security) and Taconic (minimum security).
The commitment is a minimum monthly visit and a required 2-hour training session conducted virtually. The next online training will be Monday, October 16th from 7 - 9 p.m
Message from Nancy:
This fall marks the tenth anniversary of Woman 2 Woman, the prison ministry I co-founded at Bedford Presbyterian Church in 2013. Over the past decade we have connected more than 150 women in the community surrounding Bedford Hills Correctional Facility with 120 individuals incarcerated there. Lots of tears have been shed, laughs shared, and deep and meaningful friendships formed.
Unfortunately, our work is far from over. There are many people inside the prison who have been waiting a long time for a visitor. There are lots of newly incarcerated people who have heard about our visiting program and get word to me that they're interested in participating. Several of you on this mailing list have been waiting quite some time for a training session!
So, we have scheduled a Zoom training for Monday, October 16th from 7 - 9 p.m.

Please note that in order to become a Woman 2 Woman visitor, you must attend a training session.
Let's honor Woman 2 Woman's tenth anniversary and the people inside by getting as many new visitors started as possible. If you're not already a part of Woman 2 Woman, please attend the training and consider joining us. And please share this information with friends and family, co-workers and neighbors and members of your organization/faith group. Woman 2 Woman is truly a collective effort.
Gratefully,

Public Relations for Women's Wolfpack
We are urgently seeking a volunteer PR lead for the WWP. Our goal is to spread the word about our upcoming events, and increase community awareness about our Spotlight Causes. The WWP PR leader will write and distribute press releases to the local papers, magazines, women’s groups, etc. for both print and/or online resources. We anticipate this effort requiring a few hours a month for the right candidate, and that this increased exposure will expand the positive outcomes of the WWP! Please reach out if this is of interest.
